498 W END Avenue, New York City, NY 10024

Residence 12A at 498 West End Avenue is a rare offering where vision, craftsmanship, and uncompromising execution have come together to create one of the Upper West Side’s most exceptional turnkey residences. This 4, 120-square-foot home has been transformed from the inside out, with every room, finish, proportion, and architectural detail thoughtfully reconsidered to achieve a level of quality seldom found in Manhattan.

Bathed in beautiful western light, the residence unfolds through a series of graciously proportioned spaces designed for both elegant entertaining and everyday living. Raised ceilings, radiant heated floors, bespoke millwork, and a fully customized architectural lighting plan create an atmosphere that is simultaneously warm, sophisticated, and timeless. A fully integrated Crestron smart home system seamlessly controls lighting, climate, shading, and entertainment, while every closet throughout the home has been custom designed to ensure beauty and functionality exist in perfect balance.

The expansive entertaining rooms are anchored by a sculptural custom fireplace and complemented by an exceptional chef’s kitchen with a bespoke entertaining bar, creating a seamless environment for both intimate gatherings and grand-scale entertaining. Throughout the residence, an extraordinary collection of curated materials and designer elements-including Apparatus Studio lighting, Ochre chandeliers, custom Patton Design Studio millwork, Waterworks fixtures, Christopher Farr Cloth wall coverings, Kelly Wearstler furnishings, Roche Bobois pieces, and bespoke architectural details-creates a home of quiet sophistication and enduring elegance.

The double primary suite is extraordinary in both scale and design, rivaling those found in many of Manhattan’s finest townhouses. Conceived as a true private retreat, it is complemented by an adjacent suite with en-suite bath, connected through a discreet pass-through, allowing the space to function effortlessly as a private office, library, nursery, sitting room, or a seamless extension of the primary suite itself.

Originally designed as a five-bedroom residence, the home is currently configured as four bedrooms plus a beautifully appointed media room, offering exceptional flexibility while preserving the ability to easily restore the fifth bedroom. The former walk-in closet has been thoughtfully transformed into a private fitness studio with its own beautifully renovated ensuite bath, creating a wellness experience rarely found in apartment living.

Unlike many residences of comparable size, each secondary bedroom is exceptionally generous in scale, providing family and guests with accommodations that rival many primary suites. Every bathroom has been meticulously redesigned, while custom cabinetry, architectural detailing, and carefully curated finishes elevate every corner of the home.

What distinguishes Residence 12A is not simply the quality of its transformation, but the thoughtfulness behind every decision. Every intervention was made with permanence in mind, creating a residence where architecture, craftsmanship, technology, and design exist in perfect harmony. The result is a home that feels effortlessly elegant today and destined to remain so for decades to come.

Set within one of the Upper West Side’s premier prewar condominiums, residents enjoy a doorman, fitness center, and elevator service. Ideally positioned at the corner of West End Avenue and 84th Street, the building places you moments from Riverside Park and in the heart of one of Manhattan’s most coveted residential neighborhoods.

For the discerning buyer seeking a home that cannot simply be recreated, Residence 12A represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of the Upper West Side’s most thoughtfully reimagined private residences.
