A Charles Gwathmey Original, Reimagined

Welcome home to 445 Lafayette Street, a sculptural NoHo icon designed by architect Charles Gwathmey and standing directly across from Cooper Union. Apartment 6B has been brought fully up to date without losing an ounce of the fluid architecture that made this building famous.

Upon entering the home, you’ll experience abundant Southern and Western light. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap the whole apartment, and your views include Cooper Union along with the gorgeous architectural views that NoHo is known for. After passing through the gallery, the expansive living space opens up before you, the light shifting across the floors from morning through evening endless possibilities for layout and design in this entertainer’s dream.

The renovated chef’s kitchen features a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Wolf four-burner cooktop beneath a fully vented range hood, a Bosch convection oven, a Miele dishwasher, and an approximately twenty-bottle wine refrigerator.

The primary suite is awash with sunlight. The king-size bedroom offers enough space for a seating area, as well as two large walk-in closets. The generously proportioned primary bathroom features a white marble shower, soaking tub, and two separate vanities. The second bedroom is also king-size and includes an en-suite bath, and a powder room serves guests.

Central air conditioning, hardwood floors, and a stackable Bosch washer and dryer complete the residence.

Astor Place is a full-service condop of just 39 residences across 22 stories a scale that keeps the building quiet and the service personal. Residents enjoy a 24-hour doorman and concierge, live-in superintendent, fitness center, and on-site garage parking. Pets are welcome.
