A Sunny One-Bedroom in Concourse Village! Welcome to this nicely renovated one-bedroom co-op near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. You’ll enjoy a lovely blend of modern and vintage details in a historic building at the corner of Gerard Avenue and East 158th Street. A tiled foyer leads into an airy living room area with an adjacent kitchen that has been completely opened up. Natural light from a row of windows bathes original hardwood floors in a sunny glow, further complemented by recessed overhead lighting. The remodeled kitchen fits nicely along a single wall, with stylish cabinetry and stainless steel appliances. The bedroom with its wonderful corner windows is down the hall for enhanced privacy. An updated bath with wall-to-wall tile, lots of closet space, crown molding and other architectural details, all add to the unique charm of this apartment. Designed by C. Schafer Jr. and built by Finnish immigrants in 1924, 828 Gerard Ave is a notable example of early progressive cooperative housing in New York City. The pet-friendly brick walk-up with a basement laundry is surrounded by popular greenspaces including Franz Siegal Park. You’ll be close to so many great shops, bakeries, bars, and restaurants, plus the 161 St. subway.
