1170 5th Avenue, New York City, NY 10029

DIRECT CENTRAL PARK VIEWS! With over 50 feet of Fifth Avenue frontage, this Carnegie Hill, classic 8 room, 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom cooperative is available for the first time in over 50 years! This apartment is in estate condition but has unlimited potential, so bring your architect and contractor. This gracious home is accessible by a semi-private elevator landing which opens to a large gallery. The living room and two of the bedrooms all face Central Park. The large 24-foot living room has a cozy wood burning fireplace. There is a spacious formal dining room which can accommodate a table for 12. The third bedroom can also be used as a handsome library. There are two generous staff rooms available for use as additional bedrooms. Either of these rooms will also make a perfect laundry room or a lovely office. The two staff rooms can easily be combined to make one large room. Built in 1926, this landmarked building was designed by legendary architect J.E.R. Carpenter, and is a full service, white glove, doorman building with a live in resident manager. It is close to many of New York City’s finest schools, museums, playgrounds, playing fields and Mount Sinai Medical Center. Public transportation is minutes away. This apartment trades with private storage, a bike room and a gym. 1170 is a pet friendly building. There is a 2% flip tax (paid by seller) and 50% financing is allowed. An opportunity to design your own space in a premier New York City building is rarely available in this location.
