Pleasantville
Pleasantville, a village in the town of Mount Pleasant, is located about 30 miles north of Manhattan. You will often see residents strolling around, as the town is small (just 1.9 miles), and there are sidewalks throughout, making it very walkable. Some of the selling points of Pleasantville include a vibrant town center, highly rated schools, a mix of town and country living, cultural amenities and a Metro North Station. The housing market is dominated by single family homes, many Colonials and Victorians, but you can also find some condos.
Here, you will find various cultural offerings. In 2001, the nonprofit Jacob Burns Film Center opened in the landmark Rome Theater (one of the first movie theaters in Westchester). The Burns center shows independent and documentary films. The Pleasantville Music Festival is an all-day outdoor event at Parkway Field held annually on the second Saturday in July.

The Pleasantville Farmers Market is one of the first markets in Westchester. The market is open every Saturday morning and is the largest year-round farmers market in Westchester, with over 55 vendors of locally grown and produced food.
