Battery Park City
Located at the south end of Manhattan, BPC is nestled to the west of West Street, surrounded by water, parks and playgrounds. It is quiet, clean and kid-friendly.
The market is comprised of large, new(ish) rental and condo buildings (you won’t find any brownstones here). Carrying costs can be high, in part, because of the land lease with the Battery Park City Authority.

Fun Facts
Battery Park City is built on landfill that was excavated from the site of the World Trade Center, as well as sand and soil dredged from New York Harbor. Before development began, City dwellers used to flock to BPC on hot days to relax on the “beach.” This began to change in 1981, when construction commenced on BPC’s first buildings, slowly eliminating the sand and transforming the land into what we recognize as BPC today.
What We Love
the seclusion, the parks, the water views, and the new restaurants and shops at Brookfield Place.
